How to connect Tjörns Sparbank

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no code, endpoint or API key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up at open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your key pair is generated locally, in your browser, so only you can later unlock the data.
  2. In the dashboard, search for Tjörns Sparbank and choose the account type you need — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to Tjörns Sparbank's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's consent screen (valid for up to 180 days before you re-approve).
  4. Your accounts sync back into the dashboard automatically and refresh on their own.

That's the whole flow — you authorise the bank directly, and nobody, including us, sees your credentials.

Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step you take after the connection exists. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there the CLI reads your live connection:

The same works through the SDK or REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone returns only ciphertext — without your private key it stays unreadable, which is what keeps the system genuinely zero-knowledge.

All of this runs for roughly EUR 3/month, with no certificate paperwork and no per-bank onboarding.

Do I need a developer account to connect Tjörns Sparbank?
