Svea Bank is a Swedish bank offering savings, lending and payment services to companies and private customers. How to connect Svea Bank

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no code, endpoint, or API key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up at open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated on your own device, so only you can ever unlock your data.
  2. In the dashboard, choose Svea Bank and select whether you are linking a business or personal account.
  3. You are redirected to Svea Bank's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2 — your credentials go only to the bank, never to us.
  4. Your accounts and transactions sync back into the dashboard, ready to view or export.

Access your data

Reading data programmatically is an optional step you take after the bank is connected. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. Without that private key, an API key alone returns only ciphertext.

Can I connect Svea Bank with an API call?

No. Bank connections are made in the dashboard, where you approve access on Svea Bank's own login. The CLI and SDK only read and sync connections that already exist.
