Sparbanken Syd API Access & Open Banking Sync

Reach your Sparbanken Syd accounts through a single, privacy-first workspace. open-banking.io links the Ystad-based Swedish savings bank (BIC SPSDSE23XXX) to a dashboard that covers 2,600+ EU and UK banks — no eIDAS certificate, no PSD2 licence and no bank-specific integration work on your side. Both business and personal Sparbanken Syd accounts are supported, and every consent runs for up to 180 days before the bank asks you to renew it.

The service is zero-knowledge by design. Your encryption keys are generated on your own device from a passphrase only you know, so account and transaction data is decrypted locally. open-banking.io stores only your public key and can never read what flows through it.

How to connect Sparbanken Syd

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code or key involved in this step:

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase; your private key is created locally and never leaves your device.
  2. In the dashboard, search for Sparbanken Syd and choose the account type you need — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to Sparbanken Syd's own secure login and consent screen, where you approve access under PSD2.
  4. Once approved, your Sparbanken Syd accounts and transactions sync straight into your dashboard, ready to view.

That's the whole flow — you stay on the bank's trusted login for the approval, and open-banking.io simply receives the encrypted result.

Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step, and only after a connection exists. Open the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests carry your key in the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. Without that private key an API key alone returns only ciphertext — and there is no connect command, since the CLI and SDK read existing connections rather than create them.

All of this runs on the flat plan of roughly EUR 3/month.

Do I need a certificate or licence for Sparbanken Syd?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you only need a Sparbanken Syd account and its login credentials for the consent step.

Can open-banking.io read my Sparbanken Syd data?

No. It holds only your public key; decryption happens on your device, so the service sees nothing in the clear.

How long does access last?

Sparbanken Syd consents run up to 180 days, after which you re-approve on the bank's screen to keep syncing.
