Skandia (Sweden) Open Banking & API Access

Reaching your Skandia account data no longer means wrangling certificates, sandbox registrations or a bank-specific developer portal. open-banking.io gives you a single, privacy-first route to Skandia (BIC SKIASESSXXX) across the whole EU/UK — more than 2,600 banks behind one consistent interface. Whether you hold a business or personal account, you connect once and your balances and transactions flow into a dashboard only you can decrypt.

Everything is zero-knowledge by design. When you sign up you set an encryption passphrase, and your keys are generated locally on your own device. open-banking.io only ever stores your public key, so it can relay ciphertext but can never read your Skandia data.

How to connect Skandia

Connecting is done entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code snippet or key involved at this stage:

  1. Create an open-banking.io account and set your encryption passphrase (this generates your private key on your device).
  2. In the dashboard, search for Skandia and choose the account type you want to link — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to Skandia's own secure login, where you approve PSD2 access on the bank's consent screen.
  4. Control returns to your dashboard and your Skandia accounts begin syncing automatically.

Your consent lasts up to 180 days, after which you simply repeat the approval on Skandia's screen to keep the connection live.

Access your data

Once Skandia is connected, developers can optionally read the data programmatically. Open the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles your API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly.

Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key there is nothing readable to leak. The CLI and SDK read and sync connections you already made in the dashboard; they never create the bank link themselves.

All of this runs on the standard subscription of roughly EUR 3/month, with no per-bank certificate fees.

Do I need an eIDAS certificate to access Skandia?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — the PSD2 licensing is handled for you, so you just approve access on Skandia's login screen.

Can open-banking.io see my Skandia transactions?

No. The service is zero-knowledge and holds only your public key. Data is decrypted on your device with a private key that never leaves it.

How long does my Skandia connection stay active?

Up to 180 days per consent. When it expires, re-approve access on Skandia's own screen to resume syncing.
