SJ Prio Mastercard API Access & Open Banking

Your SJ Prio Mastercard collects every purchase, travel booking and point-earning transaction in one place — and open-banking.io lets you reach that data securely without touching a bank certificate or eIDAS licence. As a PSD2 access service covering 2,600+ EU and UK banks, it turns your SJ Prio Mastercard statement into a clean, structured feed you can review in a dashboard or pull programmatically. Everything is decrypted on your own device with a key only you hold, so no one — not even open-banking.io — can read your card activity.

How to connect SJ Prio Mastercard

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard, not through any API call or code:

  1. Sign up for an open-banking.io account.
  2. Set an encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated locally on your device — the service only ever sees your public key.
  3. Pick SJ Prio Mastercard in the dashboard and choose the personal account type (the only type available for this card).
  4. Approve on SJ Prio Mastercard's own consent screen. You're redirected to the card issuer's secure login to grant PSD2 access directly — open-banking.io never sees your credentials.
  5. Your accounts sync back into the dashboard automatically.

Because SJ Prio Mastercard is a card product, no BIC is required, and your consent stays valid for up to 180 days before you re-approve.

Access your data

Once your card is connected, developers can optionally read it programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key and your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request sends the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key it stays unreadable. The CLI and SDK only read or sync connections you already made in the dashboard; there is no connect command.

All of this runs for around EUR 3/month.

Do I need a bank certificate or licence?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you just approve access on SJ Prio Mastercard's consent screen.

Can open-banking.io see my transactions?

No. It's zero-knowledge and stores only your public key; decryption happens on your device.

How long does access last?

Up to 180 days per consent, after which you re-approve on the card's login screen.
