iBanFirst Sweden API Access & Open Banking Data

Reaching your iBanFirst (Sweden) account data no longer means wrestling with PSD2 certificates or building a bank-specific integration. open-banking.io gives you a single, private route to iBanFirst — a cross-border payments and FX specialist — across a network of 2,600+ EU and UK banks. Both business and personal iBanFirst accounts are supported (BIC FXBBBEBBXXX), with a PSD2 consent that stays valid for up to 180 days before you re-approve.

The defining trait is privacy. open-banking.io is zero-knowledge and certificate-free: your encryption keys are generated on your own device, and the service only ever holds your public key. Everything you read back is decrypted locally, so no server — not even open-banking.io — can see your iBanFirst balances or transactions in the clear.

How to connect iBanFirst

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there's no API call, code, or key involved in linking an account.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. This generates your personal keys locally on your device.
  2. In the dashboard, pick iBanFirst from the bank list and choose your account type (business or personal).
  3. You're redirected to iBanFirst's own secure login, where you approve access on their consent screen — your credentials are only ever entered at the bank.
  4. Your iBanFirst accounts then sync straight into your dashboard, ready to view.

Access your data

Once iBanFirst is connected, developers can optionally read the data programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles your API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key on its own returns only ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays unreadable. Note the CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you've already made in the dashboard; there's no connect command.

All of this runs from around EUR 3/month.

Is my iBanFirst login shared with open-banking.io?

No. You authenticate only on iBanFirst's own consent screen; open-banking.io never sees your banking credentials.

Can I use iBanFirst for a business account?

Yes. iBanFirst supports both business and personal accounts, each linked the same way in the dashboard.

iBanFirst's PSD2 consent lasts up to 180 days, after which you re-approve access from the dashboard.
