ING Wholesale Banking Romania API Access | Open Banking
Reaching your ING Wholesale Banking (Romania) corporate account data no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates or bank-specific integration projects. open-banking.io is a certificate-free bridge to more than 2,600 EU and UK banks, and ING Wholesale Banking is one of them. You get a single dashboard for your business balances and transactions, and — because the platform is zero-knowledge — everything is decrypted on your own device with a key that never leaves it.
ING Wholesale Banking (Romania) exposes business account access under PSD2, with consent lasting up to 180 days before you re-approve. No BIC is required to set the connection up. After that window, a quick re-authorisation keeps the data flowing.
How to connect ING Wholesale Banking
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step:
- Sign up for an open-banking.io account.
- Set your encryption passphrase. Your cryptographic keys are generated locally on your device, so only you can ever unlock the data.
- In the dashboard, search for ING Wholesale Banking (Romania) and choose the business account type.
- You are redirected to ING Wholesale Banking's own secure login to approve access. Your credentials are entered only on the bank's screen.
- Once you confirm the PSD2 consent, your accounts sync back into your dashboard automatically.
Access your data
Want to pull the data programmatically? That is an optional developer step you take after the connection exists. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays unreadable, and open-banking.io's servers hold nothing but your public key.
All of this runs for around EUR 3 per month.
Do I need an eIDAS certificate?
No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you authenticate directly on ING Wholesale Banking's login screen instead.
Can open-banking.io read my transactions?
No. The service is zero-knowledge: your data is encrypted with keys only you hold, and it is decrypted on your device.
How often do I renew consent?
ING Wholesale Banking permits up to 180 days per authorisation, after which you re-approve access on the bank's screen.
