Valdres Sparebank API Access & Open Banking
Reaching your Valdres Sparebank data no longer means wrestling with bank certificates or a PSD2 sandbox. open-banking.io gives you a single, private way to pull balances and transactions from Valdres Sparebank — covering both business and personal accounts — while keeping the decryption key on your own machine. The service reaches 2,600+ banks across the EU and UK, so a Valdres Sparebank connection sits alongside every other account you hold.
Everything is zero-knowledge and certificate-free. open-banking.io stores only your public key; the private key that unlocks your Valdres Sparebank data is generated on your device and never leaves it. That means the servers relaying your data can never read it.
How to connect Valdres Sparebank
Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.
- Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your key pair is generated locally at this moment.
- In the dashboard, search for Valdres Sparebank and choose the account type you need — business or personal.
- You are redirected to Valdres Sparebank's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2. Consent lasts up to 180 days before you renew it.
- Your approved accounts sync straight into your dashboard, ready to view.
Valdres Sparebank has no BIC on file here, so simply pick it by name in the bank list.
Access your data
Once a connection exists, developers can optionally read it programmatically. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key — the API key alone only ever returns ciphertext. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections; they never create one.
All of this runs at roughly EUR 3 per month, flat.
Does open-banking.io ever see my Valdres Sparebank data?
No. It holds only your public key, so data is decrypted on your device — the platform is zero-knowledge.
Do I need a bank certificate or developer registration?
No. There are no eIDAS certificates and no sandbox onboarding — you approve access on Valdres Sparebank's own login screen.
How long does my access last?
Up to 180 days per consent. When it expires, reapprove in the dashboard to keep syncing.
