SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge Open Banking & API Access

Reaching your SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge account and transaction history no longer means wrestling with bank certificates or a PSD2 developer portal. open-banking.io links to SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge (Norway) as one of 2,600+ supported European banks, so your balances, payments and history flow into a single dashboard — and, if you want it, into your own scripts. Both business and personal SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge accounts are covered, and every consent lasts up to 180 days before you re-approve.

The design is deliberately private. open-banking.io is zero-knowledge: your encryption keys are generated on your own device, and the service only ever holds your public key. It never sees a readable copy of your SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge data. There are no eIDAS certificates to buy or renew, and pricing sits at roughly EUR 3/month.

How to connect SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are created locally, so only you can later unlock the data.
  2. In the dashboard, search for and select SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge, then choose the account type — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge's own secure login and consent screen, where you approve access directly with the bank (standard PSD2 consent).
  4. Once approved, your accounts sync back into your dashboard and refresh automatically for the life of the consent.

Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step you take only after the connection above exists. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone returns only ciphertext; without your private key, nothing is readable. Note that SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge has no BIC listed here.

Does open-banking.io need a bank certificate?

No. It is certificate-free — you approve access on SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge's own login screen, nothing to install or buy.

Can open-banking.io read my SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge data?

No. It is zero-knowledge and holds only your public key; data is decrypted on your device with a key only you control.

How long does access last?

Each SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge consent is valid for up to 180 days, after which you simply re-approve in the dashboard.
