Skagerrak Sparebank API Access & Open Banking
Skagerrak Sparebank is an Eika-group savings bank rooted in Kragerø, serving personal and business customers across Vestfold, Telemark and Agder. If you want your Skagerrak Sparebank balances and transactions in one place — or piped straight into your own scripts — open-banking.io gives you PSD2 access without certificates, eIDAS setup or a licence of your own.
open-banking.io is a zero-knowledge aggregator covering 2,600+ banks across the EU and UK. Your data is encrypted with a key generated on your own device, so the service stores only your public key and never sees your account details in the clear. Both business and personal Skagerrak Sparebank accounts are supported, and each consent lasts up to 180 days before Skagerrak Sparebank asks you to re-approve.
How to connect Skagerrak Sparebank
Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, key or code involved in this step.
- Sign up at open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your private key is created locally and never leaves your device.
- In the dashboard, choose Skagerrak Sparebank and pick the account type (business or personal).
- You are redirected to Skagerrak Sparebank's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2 — you authenticate directly with the bank, never with a third party.
- Once approved, your accounts sync back into the dashboard and stay refreshed for the life of the consent.
Access your data
Programmatic access is an optional step after the connection above exists. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json bundle — it holds the API key plus your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests carry your key in the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone only ever returns ciphertext, which is what keeps the model zero-knowledge. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections; they cannot create one.
All of this runs at roughly EUR 3/month, certificate-free.
Does open-banking.io have a Skagerrak Sparebank BIC?
No BIC is required or listed here — you select Skagerrak Sparebank by name in the dashboard.
Can open-banking.io read my Skagerrak Sparebank data?
No. Decryption uses a key only you hold; the servers keep just your public key.
How long does access last?
Up to 180 days per consent, after which you re-approve on Skagerrak Sparebank's login screen.
