Rogaland Sparebank API Access & Open Banking

Reaching Rogaland Sparebank balances and transactions the old way meant eIDAS certificates, sandbox registrations and PSD2 paperwork. open-banking.io removes all of it. It is a certificate-free bridge to 2,600+ EU and UK banks, so pulling your Rogaland Sparebank data takes a browser, a passphrase and a couple of minutes — no developer onboarding required.

Rogaland Sparebank supports both business and personal account types, and a single approval keeps your access live for up to 180 days before you re-authorise. It has no published BIC, so there is nothing extra to look up — you simply select the bank by name.

Everything runs on a zero-knowledge model. When you register you set an encryption passphrase, and your keys are generated locally on your own device. open-banking.io stores only your public key, so its servers can never read or decrypt what flows through them — your Rogaland Sparebank data is only ever readable on your side.

How to connect Rogaland Sparebank

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase (your private key is created on your device and never leaves it).
  2. In the dashboard, pick Rogaland Sparebank and choose whether you are linking a business or personal account.
  3. You are redirected to Rogaland Sparebank's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's PSD2 consent screen.
  4. Your accounts sync back into the dashboard, ready to view — and that consent stays valid for up to 180 days.

Access your data

Once a connection exists, developers can optionally read it programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext; without your private key there is nothing readable. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections — they never create one.

All of this costs around EUR 3/month.

Do I need a certificate or PSD2 licence?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free. You approve access directly on Rogaland Sparebank's consent screen — no eIDAS certificate or licence needed.

Can open-banking.io read my Rogaland Sparebank data?

No. It is zero-knowledge and holds only your public key. Data is decrypted locally with a private key that only you have.

How often do I re-authorise?

Rogaland Sparebank consent lasts up to 180 days. After that you simply re-approve on the bank's login screen.
