Rindal Sparebank API Access & Open Banking Data

Reach your Rindal Sparebank accounts through a single, privacy-first workspace. open-banking.io links to Rindal Sparebank over regulated PSD2 access, covering both business and personal accounts, so you can see balances and transactions without juggling certificates or bespoke bank integrations. Every figure that lands in your dashboard is decrypted on your own device with a key that never leaves it.

Because open-banking.io is certificate-free and zero-knowledge, our servers hold only your public key. Rindal Sparebank does not publish a BIC for this connection, and none is needed — you select the bank by name and confirm directly with it. Access consent lasts up to 180 days before Rindal Sparebank asks you to renew it, keeping you in control of how long the link stays live.

How to connect Rindal Sparebank

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated locally on your device at this moment.
  2. In the dashboard, choose Rindal Sparebank and pick the account type you need — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to Rindal Sparebank's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's PSD2 consent screen.
  4. Your accounts sync back into the dashboard, ready to view.

That's the whole flow: you authorise the bank directly, and open-banking.io never sees your credentials.

Access your data

Once Rindal Sparebank is connected, developers can optionally read the data programmatically. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your key. Without that private key an API key alone returns only ciphertext. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections — they never connect a bank.

All of this runs at roughly EUR 3/month.

Do I need a developer account to use Rindal Sparebank?

No. Connecting and viewing accounts is done in the dashboard. API access is an optional extra for those who want automation.

Can open-banking.io read my Rindal Sparebank data?

No. It is zero-knowledge — only your public key is stored, and decryption happens on your device.

How long does access stay active?

Up to 180 days per consent, after which you re-approve with Rindal Sparebank.
