Askim og Spydeberg Sparebank API Access & Open Banking

Reaching your Askim og Spydeberg Sparebank account data no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates or a bank sandbox. open-banking.io is a certificate-free bridge to 2,600+ EU and UK banks, and it treats your data as yours alone: every balance and transaction is decrypted locally with a key that never leaves your device. The service holds only your public key, so it can sync ciphertext but can never read it.

Askim og Spydeberg Sparebank supports both business and personal account types, and a single approval keeps data flowing for up to 180 days before you renew. No BIC is required to get started.

How to connect Askim og Spydeberg Sparebank

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step:

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated right there on your own device.
  2. In the dashboard, pick Askim og Spydeberg Sparebank and choose the account type you need (business or personal).
  3. You are redirected to Askim og Spydeberg Sparebank's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2 — the bank shows you exactly what you are consenting to.
  4. Once approved, your accounts sync back into your dashboard, ready to view.

That's the whole flow. You authenticate directly with the bank; open-banking.io never sees your credentials.

Access your data

If you're a developer, reading the data programmatically is an optional step you take after the connection exists. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key with your private decryption key. Then use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests carry the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. Note the CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you already made in the dashboard — there is no connect command. An API key by itself returns only ciphertext; without your private key, the data stays unreadable.

All of this runs for around EUR 3 per month.
