How to connect Société Générale

Everything happens in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in linking the bank:

  1. Sign up at open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your private key is created locally, in your browser, and never leaves your device.
  2. In the dashboard, choose Société Générale (Luxembourg) and select whether you're adding a business or personal account.
  3. You're redirected to Société Générale's own secure login, where you approve the PSD2 consent directly with the bank.
  4. Once approved, your accounts sync back into your dashboard automatically and refresh within the 180-day consent window.

Because you authenticate on Société Générale's own screen, open-banking.io never sees your banking credentials.

Access your data

If you want the data programmatically, that's an optional step after the account is already connected. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — which bundles that key with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests carry the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key on its own only ever returns ciphertext.

All of this — certificate-free, zero-knowledge, business and personal accounts — runs at roughly EUR 3/month.

Do I need a bank certificate or developer registration?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free; you approve access on Société Générale's own consent screen.

Can open-banking.io read my Société Générale data?

No. It holds only your public key. Decryption happens on your device with a private key only you possess.
