iBanFirst API Access via Open Banking | open-banking.io
Need programmatic reach into your iBanFirst accounts without wrestling with eIDAS certificates or a bank sandbox? open-banking.io gives you PSD2 access to iBanFirst (BIC FXBBBEBBXXX) across a single dashboard that also covers 2,600+ other EU and UK banks. Both business and personal iBanFirst accounts are supported, and a single approval keeps data flowing for up to 180 days before you renew.
The difference is where your data lives. open-banking.io is zero-knowledge: your encryption keys are generated on your own device from a passphrase you choose, and our servers only ever hold your public key. Balances and transactions are decrypted locally, by you — never on our side.
How to connect iBanFirst
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.
- Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your private key is created locally at this moment and never leaves your device.
- In the dashboard, search for iBanFirst and choose the account type you hold — business or personal.
- You are redirected to iBanFirst's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's PSD2 consent screen. Your credentials go only to iBanFirst.
- Once approved, your iBanFirst accounts sync back into your dashboard, ready to view. The consent stays valid for 180 days.
Access your data
Reading the data programmatically is an optional developer step you take after the bank is connected. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key.
From there, use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request authenticates with the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone returns only ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays unreadable, even to us.

What does it cost?
