ConnectPay API Access & Open Banking | open-banking.io

Reaching your ConnectPay account data no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates, sandbox registrations or a bespoke PSD2 integration. open-banking.io gives you one dashboard that connects to ConnectPay (BIC CNUALT21XXX) alongside 2,600+ other EU and UK institutions, and hands the readable data back only to you. Because the service is zero-knowledge, your figures are decrypted on your own device with a key that never leaves it — open-banking.io stores nothing but your public key.

ConnectPay is a Lithuanian electronic money institution serving both business and personal account holders, and either type can be linked here. A single approval covers a consent window of up to 180 days before ConnectPay asks you to re-authorise.

How to connect ConnectPay

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set an encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated locally on your device at this moment.
  2. In the dashboard, choose ConnectPay and pick the account type you hold — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to ConnectPay's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2 directly with the bank. open-banking.io never sees your ConnectPay credentials.
  4. Once you confirm, your accounts and transactions sync straight into your dashboard, already decrypted for your eyes only.

Access your data

Once the connection is live, reading it programmatically is an optional developer step. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK or the REST API will pull your ConnectPay data. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. Note that none of these tools can create a connection — they only read and sync the ones you already approved — and an API key alone returns nothing but ciphertext without your private key.

At around EUR 3/month, you get certificate-free access with privacy built into the architecture rather than bolted on.
