UniCredit API Access & Open Banking Integration

Reaching your UniCredit account data no longer means chasing bank certificates or standing up your own PSD2 gateway. open-banking.io gives you a single, privacy-first path to your UniCredit balances and transactions across the EU and UK — one dashboard, more than 2,600 banks, and a flat subscription instead of per-institution integration work. UniCredit is one of Italy's largest banks (BIC UNCRITMMXXX), and both business and personal accounts are supported.

What makes the service different is where your data is decrypted. open-banking.io is zero-knowledge and certificate-free: the encryption keys are generated on your own device, and the platform only ever holds your public key. Your statements are unreadable to anyone but you.

How to connect UniCredit

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your private key is created locally on your device and never leaves it.
  2. In the dashboard, choose UniCredit and select the account type you hold — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to UniCredit's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2. Consent lasts up to 180 days, after which you simply re-approve.
  4. Your UniCredit accounts sync back into your dashboard, ready to view.

That is the whole flow — you authorise directly with UniCredit, never handing credentials to us.

Access your data

Once UniCredit is connected, reading the data programmatically is an optional developer step. From the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. Then use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly.

Every request authenticates with the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays sealed. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections; they never connect a bank themselves.

Does connecting UniCredit require a bank certificate?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free. You approve access on UniCredit's own consent screen, and nothing more is needed.

Can open-banking.io read my UniCredit transactions?

No. The service is zero-knowledge and holds only your public key. Decryption happens on your device with a key only you control.

How much does it cost?

Access is roughly EUR 3 per month, covering UniCredit and every other supported bank in your dashboard.
