ING Wholesale Banking Italy API & Open Banking Access

Treasury and finance teams running corporate accounts at ING Wholesale Banking in Italy often need a clean, programmatic view of their balances and payment flows. open-banking.io gives you exactly that without the usual PSD2 friction: no eIDAS certificate to buy, no bank-specific integration to maintain, and no third party ever able to read your data. It covers 2,600+ European banks from one dashboard for roughly EUR 3 per month, and everything you retrieve is decrypted on your own device with a key only you hold.

ING Wholesale Banking (Italy) is aimed at corporate clients, so open-banking.io exposes its business account types here. Access is granted under a standard PSD2 consent that can run up to 180 days before you re-approve it. No BIC is published for this branch, and you never need one — you select the bank by name in the dashboard.

How to connect ING Wholesale Banking

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io web dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for an open-banking.io account.
  2. Set your encryption passphrase. Your cryptographic keys are generated locally on your device, so open-banking.io only ever holds your public key.
  3. In the dashboard, pick ING Wholesale Banking (Italy) and choose the business account type.
  4. You are redirected to ING Wholesale Banking's own secure login to approve access on the bank's consent screen.
  5. Once approved, your accounts sync back into your dashboard, ready to view.

Because the approval happens on the bank's own site, your credentials are never seen by open-banking.io.

Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step you take after the connection exists. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone only ever returns ciphertext, which keeps the whole system zero-knowledge.

Do I need an eIDAS certificate?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you approve access directly with ING Wholesale Banking.

Can open-banking.io read my transactions?

No. It stores only your public key; data is decrypted on your device, so the servers only ever hold ciphertext.

Up to 180 days, after which you re-approve access on ING Wholesale Banking's consent screen.
