How to connect Fiditalia

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step:

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your private decryption keys are created right there on your device.
  2. In the dashboard, search for and select Fiditalia, then choose whether you're linking a business or personal account.
  3. You're redirected to Fiditalia's own secure login, where you authenticate and approve access under PSD2 — your credentials only ever touch the bank.
  4. Once approved, your Fiditalia accounts and transactions sync straight into your open-banking.io dashboard, ready to view.

Access your data

Want to work with the data in code? That's an optional developer step you take after the connection above is live. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext; without your private key, nobody — not even open-banking.io — can read it.

All of this runs for roughly EUR 3 per month, with no certificate paperwork.

Do I need a developer account to connect Fiditalia?

No. Connecting is done in the dashboard by approving access on Fiditalia's login screen. API keys are only for reading data afterward.

Can open-banking.io see my Fiditalia transactions?

No. It holds only your public key, so its servers store ciphertext. Decryption happens on your device.

Up to 180 days per approval. When it lapses, simply re-approve in the dashboard to keep syncing.
