Bibanca Open Banking & API Access via open-banking.io

Reaching your Bibanca account data no longer means wrestling with bank APIs or PSD2 certificates. open-banking.io gives you read access to Bibanca through a single, privacy-first dashboard. Bibanca (BIC BPSAIT31XXX), the Sardinia-based consumer-finance arm of the BPER Banca group, issues personal accounts and cards — and open-banking.io lets you see those balances and transactions in one place, or pull them into your own tools.

The service is zero-knowledge and certificate-free. When you enrol, an encryption key pair is generated on your own device; open-banking.io's servers only ever hold your public key, so nothing on their side can read or decrypt your financial data. It covers 2,600+ EU and UK banks for around EUR 3 per month.

How to connect Bibanca

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your private key is created locally and never leaves your device.
  2. In the dashboard, search for Bibanca and choose the personal account type.
  3. You are redirected to Bibanca's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2 rules. A Bibanca consent lasts up to 180 days, after which you simply re-approve.
  4. Your Bibanca accounts sync straight into your dashboard.

That is the whole flow — you authenticate on Bibanca's site, not through any third-party redirect you have to build.

Access your data

Once Bibanca is connected, developers can optionally read the data programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly.

Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key on its own only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays unreadable. There is no connect command: the CLI and SDK read and sync connections that already exist.

Does open-banking.io store my Bibanca password?

No. You log in on Bibanca's own consent screen; open-banking.io never sees your credentials.

Which Bibanca accounts are supported?

Personal accounts, in line with Bibanca's retail product range (BIC BPSAIT31XXX).

How long does access last before I re-authorise?

Up to 180 days per consent, the PSD2 maximum, then you re-approve in the dashboard.
