How to connect BCC Fano

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your key pair is generated locally on your own device, so only you can later decrypt what you sync.
  2. Open the dashboard, search for BCC Fano, and choose whether you're linking a business or personal account.
  3. You're redirected to BCC Fano's own secure login, where you review and approve the PSD2 access request directly with the bank.
  4. Once approved, your accounts flow back into your dashboard and begin syncing — balances and transactions, refreshed for the life of the 180-day consent.

Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step you take after the account is connected. From the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there, use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request carries your key in the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key there is nothing readable to see.

Do I need an API key to connect BCC Fano?

No. Connecting is done in the dashboard by approving access on BCC Fano's login. API keys are only for reading data afterward.
