Banca TEMA API Access & Open Banking Integration

Banca TEMA — Terre Etrusche e di Maremma, the cooperative credit bank rooted in Tuscany's Grosseto and Maremma region — keeps its account data behind Italy's PSD2 rules. open-banking.io gives you a certificate-free way to reach that data without registering as a licensed provider or wiring up eIDAS certificates. Both personal and business Banca TEMA accounts are supported, and each authorisation you grant lasts up to 180 days before Banca TEMA asks you to renew it.

There is no BIC on file for Banca TEMA in our directory (BIC: n/a), but you never need one — you select the bank by name inside the open-banking.io dashboard.

How to connect Banca TEMA

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard, not through any API call or key:

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your cryptographic keys are generated on your own device — the service only ever sees your public key.
  2. In the dashboard, search for Banca TEMA and choose whether you're linking a personal or business account.
  3. You're redirected to Banca TEMA's own secure login, where you approve the access request (the standard PSD2 consent screen).
  4. Once approved, your Banca TEMA accounts and transactions sync straight into your dashboard.

That's the whole flow. No code, no developer redirect, no API key is involved in linking the account — you approve everything on Banca TEMA's own pages.

Access your data

After the connection is live, reading it programmatically is an optional developer step. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — this file bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. The CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you've already made — they can't create one.

Because the model is zero-knowledge, an API key on its own returns only ciphertext; without your private key nobody — not even open-banking.io — can read it. All of this runs for roughly EUR 3/month.

Do I need an eIDAS certificate for Banca TEMA?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you authorise access directly on Banca TEMA's consent screen.

Can I connect a Banca TEMA business account?

Yes. Both personal and business account types are supported; pick the right one when you select Banca TEMA in the dashboard.

How often do I re-authorise?

Banca TEMA consent lasts up to 180 days, after which you renew it from the dashboard.
