Revolut has grown from a travel-card app into a full banking platform, and its Hungarian customers now hold current accounts, savings vaults, and business balances all in one place. open-banking.io lets you pull that account and transaction data into a single, encrypted workspace — without certificates, eIDAS keys, or a bank-by-bank integration project. Revolut trades under BIC REVOLT21 and supports both personal and business account types, with PSD2 consent lasting up to 180 days before you re-approve.

Everything stays private by design. open-banking.io is zero-knowledge: your data is decrypted locally with a key that only you hold, and our servers store nothing but your public key.

How to connect Revolut

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no code, endpoint, or API key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up at open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated on your own device.
  2. In the dashboard, search for Revolut (Hungary) and choose personal or business.
  3. You are redirected to Revolut's own secure login to approve access under PSD2.
  4. Once you confirm, your accounts and transactions sync straight into your dashboard.

That consent stays valid for up to 180 days, after which you simply repeat the approval on Revolut's screen.

Access your data

Prefer to work programmatically? That is an optional developer step you take after the connection exists. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext, so nobody but you can read the result. Note there is no connect command — the tools read and refresh existing connections, they never establish new ones.

All of this runs for around EUR 3 per month.

Do I need an eIDAS certificate to access Revolut?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free. You approve access on Revolut's own login screen and we handle the PSD2 plumbing.

Can open-banking.io read my Revolut transactions?

No. The service is zero-knowledge and holds only your public key. Data is decrypted on your device with a key only you control.
