BKS Bank Croatia API Access & Open Banking

Reaching your BKS Bank (Croatia) account data no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates or building your own PSD2 stack. open-banking.io gives you a single, encrypted view of your BKS Bank accounts — identified by BIC BFKKHR22 — while keeping the decryption key on your own device. Both business and personal accounts are supported, and a single consent stays valid for up to 180 days before you re-authorise.

The service is zero-knowledge and certificate-free: our servers only ever hold your public key, so account balances and transactions are useless ciphertext to anyone but you. Coverage spans 2,600+ EU and UK banks, and pricing sits at roughly EUR 3/month.

How to connect BKS Bank

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in linking the account.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and open the dashboard.
  2. Set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated locally on your device, so only you can later decrypt what syncs.
  3. In the dashboard, pick BKS Bank and choose the account type — business or personal.
  4. You're redirected to BKS Bank's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's PSD2 consent screen.
  5. Once approved, your accounts sync back into your dashboard, refreshing automatically within the 180-day consent window.

Access your data

After the account is connected, developers can optionally read it programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly.

Every request sends your key in the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your private key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without the private half held on your machine, there is nothing readable to leak. Note that the CLI and SDK only read and sync existing connections; the initial BKS Bank link always happens in the dashboard.

Do I need an eIDAS certificate for BKS Bank?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you authorise directly on BKS Bank's consent screen and we handle the PSD2 plumbing.

Can open-banking.io read my BKS Bank transactions?

No. The platform is zero-knowledge and stores only your public key, so your data stays encrypted end to end and is decrypted only on your device.

How long does BKS Bank access last?

Up to 180 days per consent, after which you simply re-approve access on the bank's login.
