Epirus Bank API Access & Open Banking Integration

Reaching your Epirus Bank data no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates or a bespoke bank integration. open-banking.io gives you PSD2-based access to Epirus Bank (BIC STIOGR21XXX) across a network of 2,600+ EU and UK institutions, for both business and personal accounts. Every consent lasts up to 180 days before you renew it, and the whole thing runs without you ever holding a bank-issued certificate.

The design is zero-knowledge from end to end. When you sign up you set an encryption passphrase, and the key pair is generated right on your own device. open-banking.io only ever stores your public key, so the balances and transactions that flow back from Epirus Bank stay ciphertext on the server and are unlocked only where you are.

How to connect Epirus Bank

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code snippet, or key involved in this step.

  1. Create your open-banking.io account and set your encryption passphrase (your keys are generated locally).
  2. In the dashboard, search for and select Epirus Bank, then choose whether you're linking a business or personal account.
  3. You're redirected to Epirus Bank's own secure login, where you authenticate and approve the access request (standard PSD2 consent).
  4. Once you confirm, control returns to your dashboard and your Epirus Bank accounts sync in automatically.

That's the complete flow — you approve on the bank's screen, never by handing credentials to anyone else.

Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step for developers, and only after a connection exists. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json that bundles that key with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. Note the CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you already made in the dashboard — there is no connect command.

At around EUR 3/month, you get ongoing access without per-call certificate overhead.

Can I connect Epirus Bank with just an API key?

No. Linking a bank is done in the dashboard by approving on Epirus Bank's consent screen. API keys only read data you've already connected.

Can open-banking.io staff see my transactions?

No. The service holds only your public key, so stored data stays encrypted and is decrypted solely on your device.

Up to 180 days per approval, after which you re-authorise access from the dashboard.
