Caixa Rural Altea API Access & Open Banking | open-banking.io

Caixa Rural Altea is a Valencian cooperative credit entity rooted in Altea and part of Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar. If you hold a business or personal account there, open-banking.io gives you a clean, secure way to reach your balances and transactions — without certificates, without a corporate PSD2 sandbox, and without handing your financial data to a third party. Everything is decrypted locally with a key that only you hold, so the service itself only ever sees ciphertext.

Caixa Rural Altea is identified by BIC CCRIES2A045. Access covers both business and personal accounts, and a single consent lasts up to 180 days before Caixa Rural Altea asks you to renew it.

How to connect Caixa Rural Altea

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in linking the bank:

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and open your dashboard.
  2. Set an encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated on your own device; open-banking.io never receives your private key.
  3. Pick Caixa Rural Altea from the bank list and choose the account type (business or personal).
  4. You're redirected to Caixa Rural Altea's own secure login to approve access under PSD2 — your credentials go only to the bank.
  5. Once approved, your accounts sync into your dashboard automatically.

That's the whole flow. No paperwork, no eIDAS certificate, no waiting on a developer portal.

Access your data

After the connection exists, developers can optionally read it programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key and your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request sends the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key on its own only ever yields ciphertext — readable data needs your private key, which never leaves your machine.

All of this runs for around EUR 3/month.

Do I need a certificate or developer account with Caixa Rural Altea?

No. You approve access on Caixa Rural Altea's normal login screen. No certificates or bank-side registration are required.

Can open-banking.io read my Caixa Rural Altea data?

No. It's zero-knowledge — the servers hold only your public key, so stored data stays encrypted and is decrypted only on your device.

How long does access last?

Up to 180 days per consent, after which Caixa Rural Altea prompts you to renew.
