Caixa Benicarló Open Banking & API Access
Pulling your Caixa Benicarló balances and transactions into your own tools no longer means wrestling with bank certificates or bespoke PSD2 paperwork. open-banking.io gives you a single, zero-knowledge gateway to Caixa Benicarló (BIC BCOEESMM162) alongside 2,600+ other EU and UK banks. Both business and personal accounts are supported, and each authorisation stays valid for up to 180 days before you renew it.
The defining trait here is privacy: your data is decrypted locally with an encryption key that only you hold. open-banking.io's servers only ever store your public key, so they can never read what flows through them.
How to connect Caixa Benicarló
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.
- Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your key pair is generated right on your own device.
- In the dashboard, search for and select Caixa Benicarló, then choose the account type you want to link — business or personal.
- You are redirected to Caixa Benicarló's own secure login and consent screen, where you approve access directly with the bank (standard PSD2 consent).
- Once approved, your accounts sync back into your open-banking.io dashboard, ready to view. The consent lasts up to 180 days.
Access your data
Once Caixa Benicarló is connected, developers can optionally read the data programmatically. Head to the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API.
Every request authenticates with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays unreadable. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections; they don't create them.
All of this runs for around EUR 3/month, with no certificates to install and no data ever exposed to open-banking.io.
Do I need a developer account to use Caixa Benicarló?
No. Connecting and viewing accounts is done entirely in the dashboard. The API key and credentials.json are only for optional programmatic access.
Can open-banking.io read my Caixa Benicarló data?
No. It is zero-knowledge and holds only your public key. Decryption happens on your device with a private key that never leaves it.
How long does my Caixa Benicarló consent last?
Up to 180 days. After that, you simply re-approve access on Caixa Benicarló's consent screen from the dashboard.
