Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step for developers, available only after a connection exists. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json that bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. Then use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests carry the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. The CLI and SDK only read and sync existing connections — they never link a bank.

Because open-banking.io is zero-knowledge, its servers store only your public key and encrypted blobs. An API key alone returns ciphertext; without your private key it stays unreadable. All of this runs for roughly EUR 3 per month.
