VR-Bank Donau-Mindel API Access & Open Banking
Pulling your VR-Bank Donau-Mindel balances and transactions into your own tools no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates or a PSD2 sandbox. open-banking.io gives you a single, encrypted view of the cooperative bank's business and personal accounts (BIC GENODEF1GZ2) and lets you export that data on your terms. Everything is decrypted on your device with a key only you hold — the service is zero-knowledge and certificate-free, covering 2,600+ EU and UK banks.
How to connect VR-Bank Donau-Mindel
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no endpoint to call and no key to paste.
- Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your key pair is generated locally, so only your public key ever reaches the service.
- In the dashboard, search for VR-Bank Donau-Mindel and choose the account type you need — business or personal.
- You are redirected to VR-Bank Donau-Mindel's own secure login to approve access under PSD2. Your credentials go straight to the bank, never to us.
- Once you confirm consent, your selected accounts sync into the dashboard. A single approval stays valid for up to 180 days before the bank asks you to renew.
Access your data
Reading the data programmatically is an optional step that comes after the account is connected. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — it bundles that API key together with your private decryption key. From there the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), the SDKs, and the REST API all authenticate with the X-Api-Key header. Each response arrives as ciphertext and is decrypted locally with your key, so an API key on its own never yields readable data. The CLI and SDKs only read and sync connections you already approved — they cannot create one.
At around EUR 3/month, you get continuous access without maintaining bank-specific integrations.
Can open-banking.io see my VR-Bank Donau-Mindel data?
No. It stores only your public key, so balances and transactions are unreadable on the server and decrypt only on your device.
Do I need a QWAC or PSD2 certificate?
No. The service is certificate-free — approving consent on the bank's login screen is all that is required.
Which accounts can I link?
Both business and personal VR-Bank Donau-Mindel accounts, each authorised for up to 180 days per consent.
