Requests carry the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. The CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you already established — they never create one.

This is what zero-knowledge means in practice: open-banking.io servers hold only your public key, so an API key on its own returns ciphertext. Without your private key, the data is unreadable — even to us.

Is a certificate or eIDAS QWAC required?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free; you only complete Volksbank Sangerhausen's consent screen.
