Volksbank Alzey-Worms API & Open Banking Access

Reaching your Volksbank Alzey-Worms account data no longer means wrestling with bank-grade certificates or a PSD2 licence. open-banking.io gives you a single, privacy-first path to your balances and transactions at this Rheinland-Pfalz cooperative (BIC GENODE61AZY, home to the VR-Bank Mainz branch). Both business and personal accounts are supported, and each consent you grant stays valid for up to 180 days before a quick refresh.

The design is deliberately zero-knowledge: your encryption keys are generated on your own device, and open-banking.io only ever holds your public key. Your financial data is decrypted locally, so the service itself can never read it.

How to connect Volksbank Alzey-Worms

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step:

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are created locally at this moment and never leave your device.
  2. In the dashboard, search for Volksbank Alzey-Worms and choose the account type you hold (business or personal).
  3. You are redirected to Volksbank Alzey-Worms's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's PSD2 consent screen.
  4. Once approved, your accounts sync straight into your dashboard — ready to view, with consent lasting up to 180 days.

Access your data

Programmatic access is an optional step you take after connecting. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles your API key together with your private decryption key. From there, use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. The CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you already made in the dashboard — there is no connect command, and an API key alone returns only ciphertext without your private key.

All of this runs for around EUR 3/month, with no certificate paperwork.

Is a bank certificate required?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you approve access directly on Volksbank Alzey-Worms's consent screen.

Can open-banking.io read my transactions?

No. It is zero-knowledge and stores only your public key; decryption happens on your device with a key only you hold.

How often do I re-authorise?

Volksbank Alzey-Worms consents last up to 180 days, after which you re-approve on the bank's login page.
