VietinBank API Access & Open Banking Integration

Reaching your VietinBank account data no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates or a bespoke bank integration. open-banking.io gives you a single, certificate-free path to VietinBank (Germany) — BIC ICBVDEFFXXX — covering both business and personal accounts under PSD2. Whether you are reconciling company ledgers or building a personal finance tool, the workflow is the same, and your data stays yours: everything is decrypted locally with a key only you hold.

How to connect VietinBank

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your cryptographic keys are generated right there on your own device.
  2. In the dashboard, search for and select VietinBank, then choose the account type you want to link — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to VietinBank's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's genuine consent screen. open-banking.io never sees your banking credentials.
  4. Your approved accounts sync straight into your dashboard.

That PSD2 consent stays valid for up to 180 days, after which VietinBank asks you to re-approve — a routine renewal you complete the same way.

Access your data

Once VietinBank is connected, developers can optionally read the data programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key, no one, including open-banking.io, can read it. These tools read and sync your existing connection; they never connect a bank themselves.

Because open-banking.io is zero-knowledge, its servers hold only your public key and store nothing they can decrypt. No certificates, no compliance overhead, and access to 2,600+ European banks for around EUR 3/month.

Do I need a developer account to use VietinBank?

No. Connecting and viewing accounts works from the dashboard alone. API keys and credentials.json are only for the optional programmatic step.

Which VietinBank accounts are supported?

Both business and personal accounts are available, authorized under standard PSD2 consent with VietinBank's own login.

Can open-banking.io see my VietinBank transactions?

No. Data is encrypted with keys generated on your device, and only you can decrypt it locally.
