Sparkasse Wittgenstein API Access & Open Banking
Reaching your Sparkasse Wittgenstein account data no longer means wrestling with eBICS files, bank certificates or a corporate onboarding queue. open-banking.io is a zero-knowledge, certificate-free bridge to Sparkasse Wittgenstein (BIC WELADED1BEB) covering both business and personal accounts across the EU and UK. You approve access once, and your balances and transactions flow into a dashboard where only you hold the key to read them.
Because the service is certificate-free, there is nothing to install on Sparkasse Wittgenstein's side and no QWAC to procure. Your encryption keys are generated on your own device, so open-banking.io only ever stores your public key — it can never read or decrypt what syncs through it.
How to connect Sparkasse Wittgenstein
Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code or key involved in this step:
- Sign up at open-banking.io and set an encryption passphrase. Your private decryption key is created locally and never leaves your device.
- In the dashboard, choose Sparkasse Wittgenstein and select the account type you need — business or personal.
- You are redirected to Sparkasse Wittgenstein's own secure login and consent screen, where you authorise access under PSD2.
- Once approved, your accounts sync back into your dashboard automatically.
Your consent lasts up to 180 days, after which Sparkasse Wittgenstein asks you to re-approve — a regulatory refresh, not a limitation of open-banking.io.
Access your data
Programmatic access is an optional step after your Sparkasse Wittgenstein connection is live. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json bundling that key with your private decryption key. From there you can run the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync) or call the SDK and REST API. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key — an API key alone returns only ciphertext. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections; they never create one.
All of this runs for roughly EUR 3/month, with no per-connection or certificate fees.
Do I need a developer account to connect Sparkasse Wittgenstein?
No. Connecting is a dashboard action. API keys are only for reading data programmatically afterwards.
Can open-banking.io see my Sparkasse Wittgenstein transactions?
No. It holds only your public key. Data is decrypted on your device, so the servers see nothing but ciphertext.
How long does access stay active?
Up to 180 days per PSD2 consent, then Sparkasse Wittgenstein prompts you to re-authorise.
