How to connect Sparkasse Neuwied

  2. In the dashboard, search for Sparkasse Neuwied and choose the account type you want to link — business or personal.
  3. You are redirected to Sparkasse Neuwied's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's PSD2 consent screen. open-banking.io never sees your banking credentials.
  4. Your approved accounts sync straight back into your dashboard. Consent lasts up to 180 days, after which you simply re-approve on the bank's screen to keep the connection live.

Once a connection exists, reading it programmatically is an optional developer step. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API all work the same way: requests carry the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext, so nobody but you can read the plaintext — not even open-banking.io. The CLI and SDK only read and refresh connections you already made in the dashboard; they cannot create one.
