Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt API Access & Open Banking

Reaching account data from Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt no longer means wrangling eIDAS certificates or building a bespoke PSD2 stack. open-banking.io gives you a single, certificate-free path to your balances, transactions and account details across 2,600+ European banks — including this regional Hessen Sparkasse (BIC HELADEF1SLS). Both business and personal accounts are supported, and every consent lasts up to 180 days before you re-approve.

The defining feature is privacy. open-banking.io is zero-knowledge: your encryption keys are generated on your own device from a passphrase only you know, and the service stores nothing but your public key. Data is decrypted locally, so no server — not even open-banking.io's — can read your Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt statements.

How to connect Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt

Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code or key in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase; your private key is created locally and never leaves your device.
  2. In the dashboard, pick Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt and choose a business or personal account.
  3. You are redirected to Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's PSD2 consent screen.
  4. Your accounts sync back into the dashboard, ready to view.

Access your data

After the connection exists, developers can optionally read it programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your key. The API key alone only returns ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays unreadable. The CLI and SDK read and sync existing connections; they never create one.

All of this runs for roughly EUR 3/month, with no certificate paperwork.

Do I need an eIDAS certificate?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you authorise directly on Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt's consent screen.

Can open-banking.io see my transactions?

No. It holds only your public key; decryption happens on your device, so your data stays private.

How long does access last?

Up to 180 days per consent, after which you re-approve with Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt.
