Sparkasse Hanauerland API Access & Open Banking
Sparkasse Hanauerland serves the Kehl and Hanauerland region on the Upper Rhine, and open-banking.io lets you reach its account data without certificates, bank-specific integrations, or a compliance project. The service covers 2,600+ EU and UK institutions behind one consistent interface, so whether you bank with Sparkasse Hanauerland for a business or a personal account, the path is the same. Everything is decrypted on your own device with a key only you hold — open-banking.io never sees your figures in the clear.
How to connect Sparkasse Hanauerland
Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.
- Sign up for open-banking.io and set an encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated locally on your device.
- In the dashboard, search for Sparkasse Hanauerland (BIC
SOLADES1KEL) and choose your account type — business or personal. - You are redirected to Sparkasse Hanauerland's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2. A single consent stays valid for up to 180 days before you renew it.
- Your approved accounts then sync back into your open-banking.io dashboard, ready to view.
Because you authorise directly on the bank's screen, your Sparkasse Hanauerland credentials are never shared with open-banking.io.
Access your data
Reading data programmatically is an optional step for developers, done only after a connection exists. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json that bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests carry your key in the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your private key. The CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you have already approved — there is no connect command.
This is what zero-knowledge means in practice: open-banking.io stores only your public key, so its servers hold ciphertext they cannot read. All of it runs for around EUR 3/month.
Is a bank certificate or eIDAS setup required?
No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you approve access on Sparkasse Hanauerland's login and nothing else is needed.
Can I connect both business and personal accounts?
Yes. Sparkasse Hanauerland supports both account types; add each one as a separate connection in the dashboard.
How often do I renew consent?
PSD2 consent for Sparkasse Hanauerland lasts up to 180 days, after which you reauthorise from the dashboard.
