Access your data

Want to work with the data programmatically? That's an optional step you take after the connection exists. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — it bundles your API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. Note that the CLI and SDK only read and sync connections you already made in the dashboard — there is no connect command.

Do I need a certificate or PSD2 licence?

No. open-banking.io is certificate-free; you only need a Sparda-Bank Hamburg account and your open-banking.io login.

Can open-banking.io read my Sparda-Bank Hamburg transactions?

No. It is zero-knowledge and holds only your public key, so an API key alone returns ciphertext — readable data requires your private key.
