Spar- u. Kredit-Bank Open Banking & API Access
Reaching account data from Spar- u. Kredit-Bank no longer means chasing bank certificates or standing up your own PSD2 stack. open-banking.io gives you a single, privacy-first path to your Spar- u. Kredit-Bank business and personal accounts (BIC GENODEF1GMD), with every balance and transaction decrypted on your own device using a key that never leaves your hands.
The service is certificate-free and covers 2,600+ EU and UK banks, so Spar- u. Kredit-Bank sits alongside the rest of your financial connections in one place. Consent lasts up to 180 days before Spar- u. Kredit-Bank asks you to renew it, matching the PSD2 maximum.
How to connect Spar- u. Kredit-Bank
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in linking your bank.
- Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your cryptographic keys are generated locally on your device; open-banking.io only ever holds your public key.
- In the dashboard, choose Spar- u. Kredit-Bank and pick the account type you want to link — business or personal.
- You are redirected to Spar- u. Kredit-Bank's own secure login, where you approve access on the bank's official consent screen.
- Your approved accounts sync straight into your dashboard, ready to view.
Because approval takes place on Spar- u. Kredit-Bank's own pages, your banking credentials are never seen or stored by open-banking.io.
Access your data
Once a connection exists, developers can optionally read it programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there, use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key, the data stays unreadable, which is what zero-knowledge means in practice.
All of this runs for roughly EUR 3/month.
