Raiffeisenbank Eifel API Access & Open Banking
Pulling your Raiffeisenbank Eifel balances and transactions into your own tools no longer means wrestling with bank IT departments or PSD2 certificates. With open-banking.io you link your Raiffeisenbank Eifel accounts (BIC GENODED1SMR) once in a browser dashboard, and from that moment your business and personal data flows in — encrypted so that only you can read it. open-banking.io reaches 2,600+ EU and UK banks for roughly EUR 3/month, and Raiffeisenbank Eifel, the cooperative bank rooted in Simmerath and the wider Eifel region, is one of them.
How to connect Raiffeisenbank Eifel
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, no code, and no key involved in this step:
- Sign up for an open-banking.io account.
- Set an encryption passphrase. Your cryptographic keys are generated locally on your device, so the private key never leaves it.
- Pick Raiffeisenbank Eifel in the dashboard and choose the account type you want — business or personal.
- Approve on Raiffeisenbank Eifel's own login. You are redirected to the bank's secure consent screen, where you authenticate directly with Raiffeisenbank Eifel and grant access under PSD2.
- Your accounts sync back into the dashboard. Consent lasts up to 180 days, after which you simply re-approve.
Access your data
Reading the data programmatically is an optional developer step you take after connecting. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key with your private decryption key. From there the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), the SDKs, or the REST API all work. Requests carry the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. The CLI and SDKs only read and sync connections you already made in the dashboard — there is no connect command.
Because the platform is zero-knowledge, open-banking.io servers hold only your public key and store your data as ciphertext. An API key on its own returns nothing readable without your private key. And being certificate-free, you skip the eIDAS/QWAC paperwork traditional PSD2 integrations demand.
Is a banking licence or certificate required?
No. open-banking.io is certificate-free — you only need a Raiffeisenbank Eifel account and the PSD2 consent you grant on the bank's screen.
Can open-banking.io read my Raiffeisenbank Eifel data?
No. Decryption happens on your device with a key only you hold, so the service sees only encrypted data.
How long does access last?
Up to 180 days per consent, then you re-approve on Raiffeisenbank Eifel's login screen.
