Kreissparkasse Kusel API Access & Open Banking
Reaching your Kreissparkasse Kusel accounts through a modern open-banking layer no longer means wrestling with eIDAS certificates or bank-specific developer portals. open-banking.io gives you a single, encrypted view of your Kreissparkasse Kusel balances and transactions — covering both business and personal accounts — as part of a network of 2,600+ EU and UK banks. Everything is decrypted locally with a key only you hold, so the service itself never sees your financial data in the clear.
How to connect Kreissparkasse Kusel
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in linking the bank. The steps:
- Sign up for an open-banking.io account.
- Set an encryption passphrase. Your cryptographic keys are generated right on your own device; only your public key ever leaves it.
- In the dashboard, search for and select Kreissparkasse Kusel (BIC MALADE51KUS) and choose the account type you need — business or personal.
- You are redirected to Kreissparkasse Kusel's own secure login, where you approve access under PSD2. This consent can run for up to 180 days before you renew it.
- Your accounts sync back into the dashboard, ready to view.
Because approval takes place on Kreissparkasse Kusel's own consent screen, your banking credentials are never shared with open-banking.io.
Access your data
Once a connection exists, developers can optionally read it programmatically. On the Developers page, create an API key and export a credentials.json file — it bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there, use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. The API key alone only ever returns ciphertext, which keeps the whole pipeline zero-knowledge. Note that these tools read and sync existing connections — the linking itself always stays in the dashboard.
The service is certificate-free and costs around EUR 3 per month.
Is my Kreissparkasse Kusel data readable by open-banking.io?
No. The platform holds only your public key. Data is encrypted for you and decrypted on your device, so no server can read it.
Can I connect both business and personal accounts?
Yes. Kreissparkasse Kusel supports both account types; pick the relevant one when you add the bank in the dashboard.
How long does access last before I re-approve?
PSD2 consent for Kreissparkasse Kusel lasts up to 180 days, after which you re-confirm on the bank's login screen.
