Hoerner Bank API Access & Open Banking Integration
Hoerner Bank is a long-established private bank based in Heilbronn, and open-banking.io lets you reach its account data without the certificates, TPP licences, or bespoke integrations that PSD2 usually demands. You add Hoerner Bank once in the dashboard, approve access on the bank's own login, and your balances and transactions flow in — encrypted end to end so only you can read them.
Both business and personal Hoerner Bank accounts are supported, identified by BIC HOEBDE61XXX. A single consent stays valid for up to 180 days before the bank asks you to re-approve, so you can build steady reporting or reconciliation on top of a stable link.
How to connect Hoerner Bank
Connecting happens entirely inside the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step:
- Sign up for open-banking.io and set your encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated locally on your own device, so nobody else — not even open-banking.io — can derive them.
- In the dashboard, search for Hoerner Bank and choose the account type you want to link (business or personal).
- You are redirected to Hoerner Bank's own secure login, where you authenticate and grant PSD2 consent directly with the bank.
- Once approved, your accounts sync back into the dashboard, ready to view or export.
Because the approval takes place on Hoerner Bank's own screens, your credentials are never seen by open-banking.io.
Access your data
Programmatic access is an optional step you take after the account is connected. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — it bundles the API key with your private decryption key. From there you can use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API. Every request carries the X-Api-Key header, and each response is decrypted locally with your own key. An API key on its own only ever returns ciphertext — without your private key the data stays unreadable.
The service is zero-knowledge by design: open-banking.io holds only your public key and can never decrypt what it stores. Access to 2,600+ EU/UK banks costs around EUR 3/month.
Do I need a PSD2 certificate for Hoerner Bank?
No. open-banking.io is certificate-free; the dashboard flow and shared licensing remove that requirement entirely.
Can I link both business and personal accounts?
Yes. Hoerner Bank exposes both types — connect each one separately in the dashboard under BIC HOEBDE61XXX.
How often do I re-authorise?
Consent lasts up to 180 days, after which Hoerner Bank prompts you to approve access again.
