ING Wholesale Banking (Belgium) API Access & Open Banking

Corporate treasurers and finance teams running ING Wholesale Banking (Belgium) accounts often need those balances and statements in their own tooling — not just in a portal. open-banking.io gives you that reach without EIDAS certificates or a PSD2 licence of your own. It is a certificate-free service covering 2,600+ banks across the EU and UK, and it is built zero-knowledge: your data is decrypted locally with a key that never leaves your device, so the servers hold only your public key and ciphertext.

ING Wholesale Banking is ING's corporate and institutional arm, so access here is scoped to business account types. Consent under PSD2 lasts up to 180 days before ING Wholesale Banking asks you to re-authorise. No BIC is required to set the connection up in the dashboard.

How to connect ING Wholesale Banking

Connecting happens entirely in the open-banking.io dashboard — there is no API call, code, or key involved in this step.

  1. Sign up for open-banking.io and set an encryption passphrase. Your keys are generated on your own device from that passphrase.
  2. In the dashboard, pick ING Wholesale Banking and choose the business account type you want to link.
  3. You are redirected to ING Wholesale Banking's own secure login to approve access (the PSD2 consent screen). open-banking.io never sees your credentials.
  4. Once you approve, your accounts sync back into the dashboard and stay refreshed for the life of the 180-day consent.

Access your data

Reading the data programmatically is an optional step you take after connecting. Open the Developers page, create an API key, and export a credentials.json — this bundles the API key together with your private decryption key. From there use the CLI (openbanking accounts, openbanking transactions, openbanking sync), an SDK, or the REST API directly. Requests authenticate with the X-Api-Key header, and every response is decrypted locally with your own key. Without that private key an API key alone only ever returns ciphertext — which is exactly how zero-knowledge is supposed to work. Note the CLI and SDK only read and sync connections that already exist; connecting a bank is always done in the dashboard.

All of this runs at around EUR 3/month.
